As a destination, Plettenburg Bay has a year-round temperate climate, beautiful beaches, and stunning scenery, as well as a culture of conservation, living history, and a flourishing creative community. Tucked neatly into the Garden Route, the little coastal town boasts beaches, a rugged peninsula, and dense green forests, perfect for hiking, bird watching and surfing - to name a few.

Beaches

Plett is spoilt with some of the most beautiful white sand beaches with crystal blue waters. Offering everything from lazy days relaxing on Look Out Beach, to long beach walks along Robberg searching for pansy shells, or more adventurous activities, Plett offers it all. With access to a number of lovely beaches, national park walks along the coast and main bright blue lagoon.

Adventure activities

If outdoor activities is your interest, Plett and the neighboring Garden Route is perfect for hikes along the famous Otter trail, excellent game viewing areas, as well as visiting wildlife sanctuaries where you are able to interact and walk with Cheetahs.. And for those very adventurous, a short distance away is the world famous bungee jump bridge, Bloukrans.

Birding

Plett is a very popular tourist destination for avid birders. Ideally positioned on the coast with nearby forests and farmland, many birders around the world visit Plett to add the rare endemic birds found along the Garden Route to their birding list. The area is well equipped, offering qualified and experienced bird guides and birding checklists for the intrepid and experienced twitcher.

Garden Route

The Garden Route is a popular holiday destination during summer and a tranquil hideaway during the winter months - both seasons are equally beautiful and attractive due to the largely Mediterranean climate. It is a paradise for eco-lovers, bird watchers and solitude seekers and one of the most beautiful parts of the Western Cape.
